Blogpost #6 - Jolene H

There was not very much growth in the plant. It looks similar to last time but there are more holes from the snails and they are starting to turn a bit yellow. It has gotten a bit bigger because of photosynthesis. The cells inside the plant grow larger with the sun and then split up in twos. This is called mitosis. Duplicating takes a lot of energy. The PKG is an enzyme that helps turn the sunlight energy into chemical energy to help biomass. Cellular respiration is the process of oxidizing food molecules, like glucose, carbon dioxide and water. The released energy is trapped in the form of ATP for use by all the energy consuming activities of the cell. All these things are needed to keep a plant alive and healthy.
